Privacy policy

Last updated 27 October 2026

Short version: the files you convert never leave your device. Every tool on 10MinuteConvert runs inside your web browser. The site is funded by advertising from Google, which uses cookies as described below, and only with your consent where the law requires it.

Who we are

10MinuteConvert is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us through the contact page.

Your files

Information stored on your device

Advertising and cookies

We use Google AdSense to show adverts, which keeps the tools free. Ads are placed away from the upload area, previews and results.

Visitors in the UK, the European Economic Area and Switzerland are asked for consent through a Google-certified consent banner before personalised ads or non-essential cookies are used. You can change your choice at any time with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page.

Lawful basis: consent for advertising cookies and personalised ads; legitimate interests for non-personalised ads and for keeping the service secure and free.

Server logs

Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (IP address, browser type, page requested and time) for security and to keep the site running. These logs never contain file content and are kept for a limited period set by the host.

Children

10MinuteConvert is a general-audience tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Future cloud tools

Some planned tools, such as Word conversion, need a server. Before you use one it will be clearly labelled as cloud processing. Uploaded files will be stored encrypted in isolated temporary storage and deleted automatically 10 minutes after upload, or immediately when you press Delete now.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for access to, correction of or deletion of personal data we hold about you, object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. For files processed in your browser we hold none. Contact us through the contact page. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes

We will update this page when our practices change and show the date of the latest version at the top.
