How to use it
- Add images: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF or BMP.
- Choose "Quality level" or "Target file size".
- Press Convert and check the before-and-after view.
- Save single images or a ZIP of the batch.
Example: a 200 KB upload limit
A 3.2 MB phone photo with a 200 KB target is first re-encoded at the highest quality that fits. If quality alone cannot get there, we reduce dimensions in steps and tell you the final size.
Tips
- PNG is lossless, so "Best for each file" converts PNGs to WebP (or JPG in Safari) to make real savings.
- If a compressed file comes out bigger, we keep your original instead.
Privacy
Compress image runs entirely in your browser. Files are never uploaded, never seen by advertising or analytics scripts, and are removed from this tab 10 minutes after you add your first file, or straight away with Delete now. Copies you save to your device stay yours.
Questions
Will transparency be kept?
With WebP, yes. JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas become white, and we tell you when that happens.
What does "best effort" mean for target size?
Very small targets may need smaller dimensions. If the target is impossible, you get the smallest readable version and a note.
Does compression remove metadata?
Yes. Re-encoded images do not carry EXIF data such as GPS location.
